The Consumer Protection Distance Selling Act

The above act came into force on 31 October 2000 and the GetPhotos.co.uk system has been designed to comply with its relevant requirements.
Your special attention is drawn to:

1.0 Confirmation

The regulations state that 'after making a purchase the consumer must be sent confirmation'.

If you fill in the e-mail field when you make an order, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. This will occur on electronic receipt of your order by Van Cols Ltd.
No confirmation of receipt of order will be sent for postal ordering

1.1 Cooling-off Period

The regulations state that 'consumers must have the right of cancellation of an order within a 'cooling-off' period of 7 working days'.
In this instance the Van Cols Ltd OnLine system is an exception and customers do not have the right to cancel because 'the supply of goods has been made to the consumer's personal specification', i.e. image number, print size, etc.

1.2 Cancellation Period

The regulations require 'the supplier’ to inform the consumer prior to the conclusion of a contract that he will not be able to cancel, once performance of the service has begun'.

In this instance the placing of an order, using the GetPhotos.co.uk system, will be deemed as your agreement for us to begin the service and therefore you will not have the right to cancel under this regulation.

1.3 Information

The regulations require 'the supplier to provide the customer with certain information'.
